Pallimed – Great Resource for Hospice Professionals

If you’re a hospice professional looking to connect with good, up to date information about end of life care, the Pallimed website is just what you need.  Created back in 2005 by Dr. Drew Rozielle, Pallimed was originally designed to be a site to connect readers with journal articles related to the care of hospice patients.  It’s since expanded to include information on media coverage of hospice and palliative care issues.

Although it’s designed for end of life professionals, Pallimed welcomes anyone who can gain insight from the content.  It’s powered by volunteers and there are no ads.  The blog are written by several contributors experienced in hospice and palliative care, with topics ranging from ICU delirium to physician assisted suicide.

The writers at Pallimed aren’t afraid to tackle the tough topics.  Social worker Lizzy Miles wrote an incredibly helpful article on the challenges that blended families face at end of life.  Hospice teams often address the discord that comes with blended caregiving units.  Lizzy’s insight into the topic is a benefit to end of life workers, regardless of discipline.

Dr. Rozielle keeps physicians up to date on the latest news from conferences and events like the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.  He also writes about studies that are published in numerous professional journals.

Whether you’re a hospice professional, a student needing information about end of life care, or simply seeking to expand your knowledge of hospice philosophy, Pallimed is the place for all things hospice.  Check out their website here at pallimed.org.  You can connect with them on Facebook and Twitter (@Pallimed).

Thanks to Pallimed and all its contributors for all they do to improve end of life experiences for so many people!
